Overview
CervejaBox was a migration project of a beer club subscription page from VTEX to Shopify. The focus was to rebuild the subscription experience with more stability and control, turning a business-critical page into a flexible, intuitive structure ready for monthly updates.
Context and objective
In subscription clubs, the page must support frequent changes without becoming an operational risk. The main objective was to keep the monthly offer flexible, allowing the client to easily edit beer combinations without compromising performance, usability, or purchase flow consistency.
The challenge
The biggest challenge was balancing editing freedom with technical stability. It was necessary to build a highly dynamic page where users could assemble their combination without errors, while the client maintained a simple way to update what would be available each month. In addition, issues previously experienced on VTEX needed to be eliminated, delivering a more intuitive and reliable journey.
The strategy
The strategy was to clearly separate visual structure from combination logic. The layout was built with scan-friendly components, ensuring fast reading and predictable interaction. In parallel, the JavaScript logic was designed to support combinations without inconsistencies, reducing friction and preventing technical limitations during order customization.
What was implemented
Complete layout rebuild:
- HTML and CSS: full page rebuild focused on visual clarity, hierarchy, and responsiveness.
- Choice-oriented UI: block and card organization to simplify understanding and speed up subscriber decisions.
Combination logic and customization:
- JavaScript for combinations: logic implemented so users can customize orders easily, without errors or inconsistencies.
- Stable flow: validations and controlled behaviors to prevent breaks and technical limitations during kit assembly.
Operational flexibility for monthly updates:
- Editable structure: foundation prepared for the client to update offers and combinations monthly without complex changes.
- Shopify compatibility: adapting the subscription model to Shopify’s ecosystem while maintaining performance and usability.
Fixing issues from the previous platform:
- Removing VTEX limitations: resolving instabilities and friction points that existed before, delivering a more consistent page.
- More intuitive experience: clearer journey for subscribers to understand, select, and complete checkout.
Result
The result was a more stable, efficient, and intuitive subscription page within Shopify, prepared for monthly changes without losing performance. The project reinforced my skills in front-end development, cross-platform migration, and custom JavaScript logic, improving user experience and reducing operational risk for the CervejaBox operation.
