Snugfly

Overview

SnugFly was an ongoing monthly development project on Shopify, starting with performance-focused optimizations and evolving into a full theme rebuild. Over the course of the engagement, the work went through multiple phases, including a visual redesign, structural improvements, and even the creation of a completely new theme, which was later discontinued by the client due to internal decisions.

Context and objective

The project began with performance demands and, as the store matured, new needs emerged around visual positioning and interface consistency. The objective was to elevate the experience, build a lighter and more pleasant visual standard, and ensure that integrations with U.S. market plugins worked with stability, visual harmony, and low friction for the user.

The challenge

One of the main challenges was maintaining consistency and stability while the store went through continuous changes, with monthly deliveries and progressive theme evolution. In addition, integrating third-party plugins without breaking layout, performance, or UX patterns required controlled technical decisions, code adjustments, and advanced logic to adapt behaviors and keep the experience smooth.

The strategy

The strategy was to work in layers. First, strengthen the foundation with optimizations and performance adjustments. Then, evolve the UI gradually, building a lighter and more friendly visual language. Finally, develop tailored technical solutions to integrate plugins and external features without losing consistency, even when some visual direction decisions were influenced by the client’s specific preferences.

What was implemented

Visual evolution and identity:

• Progressive redesign: continuous layout improvements over the months, evolving structure and polish with consistency.
• Rounded elements: rounded corners and softer components applied to create a lighter and more modern aesthetic.
• Vector illustrations: custom graphic elements added, such as stylized airplanes, reinforcing identity and making the experience more enjoyable.

Technical customization and integrations:

• HTML and CSS: structural adjustments and layout refinement to keep visual unity and compatibility across sections.
• JavaScript and advanced logic: custom behaviors built to adapt the store to plugin needs and specific flows.
• U.S. plugin integrations: interface adaptations and tailored solutions to ensure stable, cohesive operation inside the theme.

Monthly maintenance and evolution:

• Continuous deliveries: recurring improvements and adjustments, keeping the store in constant evolution.
• Change management: fast adaptation to new demands, preserving stability even during larger theme and layout changes.

Result

SnugFly was a meaningful opportunity to deepen skills in Shopify, web development, and plugin integrations, within a real continuous-improvement cycle. The result was a lighter, more consistent, and visually attractive store, supported by technical improvements and tailored solutions that ensured harmony between layout and functionality, even with frequent changes throughout the process.
